Jonathan’s career has spanned four decades of working with businesses, governments and non-profits. His creativity and vision have been sought after by many to help produce innovative programs and solve complex problems.

Jonathan was the CEO/President of Hudson Valley Pattern for Progress, a regional think tank serving the counties of Westchester, Rockland, Putnam, Dutchess, Ulster, Orange, Sullivan, Greene and Columbia for 15 years. During this period, he provided guidance on a vast array of issues and projects to all levels of elected officials, numerous economic and community development organizations, housing groups, businesses, the banking sector and not for profits of all sizes.

While at Pattern, he also served as a member of the New York State Mid-Hudson Regional Economic Development Council for 11 years. He was also a member of the Council’s executive committee providing countless hours of support to its multiple programs that supported businesses, non-profits, and residents throughout the Hudson Valley.

Prior to his leadership at Pattern for Progress, Jonathan was the Executive Director of the Gerry Foundation. During his tenure, the Foundation’s principle initiative was the successful creation and development of Bethel Woods Center for the Arts – a 17,000 seat venue and an interpretive museum of the period of the 60s located at the site of the original Woodstock festival.

Jonathan was also the county manager of Sullivan County, the director of Oversight and Investigation for the New York City council and legislative counsel for Mayor Ed Koch’s Office of the Criminal Justice Coordinator.

During his career Jonathan was appointed by Governors to several New York State commissions addressing issues on how to improve the delivery of government services and how to provide mass transit to the new Tappan Zee bridge. Jonathan has also been the recipient of numerous awards and recognitions by elected officials and not-for-profits for his contributions throughout the Hudson Valley.

A gifted motivational speaker and moderator, Jonathan has spoken before audiences of all sizes, hosted a podcast, “Patterns and Paradigms”, which explored how the Pandemic was changing our lives and at Pattern’s annual dinner interviewed celebrities such as Daymond John, Mariano Rivera and Wes Moore.

Jonathan has a law degree from Cardozo law school, a master’s degree in economics from Long Island University and an undergraduate degree in political science from Washington University. He also attended Durham University in England for his junior year abroad.
